Freedom Financial Funds Seeks Daring Donors To Benefit Homes 4 Families

With a mission of building resiliency, economic growth, neighborhoods and homes for veteran families, Homes 4 Families seeks to meet the significant need for affordable housing and no-cost services that equip veteran families to thrive in civilian life. Since the organization was founded in 2008, it has helped more than 386 low-income families achieve the American Dream of home ownership. Homes 4 Families works closely with the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), corporate sponsors and individual donors to make these dreams a reality.

The Homes 4 Families Enriched Neighborhood® model creates financial sustainability and upward mobility for veteran families by combining permanent housing with wraparound services in a supportive neighborhood. These holistic services include financial literacy, health and wellness and vet-to-vet support, and help to ensure that veterans become and remain successful homeowners. All services are well-researched and tested, and they are unique enough to be registered/copyrighted.

In 2018, the program delivered 1,000 hours of financial education, 300 hours of Certified Emergency Response Team training and 2,900 hours of trauma-informed care, while giving 325 veteran family members a place to call home.

Freedom Financial Funds, LLC CEO Michael Klein serves on the Homes 4 Families board. He commented on how the program empowers the people it serves. “Each buyer of a home puts in 500 hours of sweat equity to demonstrate their commitment to the opportunity they earn. These veterans are workers and want to earn what they get. I like that.”

It takes many people and resources for Homes 4 Families to deliver on its mission, and there are many ways to contribute. Homes 4 Families is supported through corporate giving; its TEAMBuild program for corporations and associations; and planned giving via its Hard Hats 4 Heroes Club.

“To keep the houses affordable, Homes 4 Families has to raise about $50,000 for every house we sell,” Klein said. “We are in the process of building out a 56-unit development in Palmdale, California. So far, we have covered the first 16 units and are fundraising for the next phase.”

Are You a Daring Donor?
Homes 4 Families’ next big fundraising event, Over the Edge for Veterans, is slated for October 30, 2021. Costumes are encouraged for this Halloween-themed event to take place at Hilton Universal City. Join the excitement as people challenge themselves to rappel down the Hilton tower! No rappelling experience is necessary — just a bit of bravery! You can wear a GoPro camera and capture every moment of the adventure.

Sponsorship opportunities begin at $2,500 and participant opportunities begin at $1,500. Donors can feel great about their contributions, knowing that Homes 4 Families is audited by a third party, and only 2 to 4% of its annual funding goes to administration and fundraising.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for team building with colleagues or making unforgettable memories with friends and family.

Veterans deserve to have a share of the American Dream they helped to preserve! Sign up for the event, become a volunteer or donate today at: https://www.homes4families.org .
